"Before I had cancer I was an artist. During my treatment I was an artist. Now, being a survivor, I am still an artist. For some time, I believe that art was selfishly therapeutic. Now, however, I find my art has not only left the realm of realism, becoming abstract, but it is a universal reflection of my ideologies that are fueled by my survivorship and the issues I continue to face. My artwork is a reflection of my personal philosophical beliefs combined with my theoretical beliefs in art. "
